Site Tips Layout This is very important, because lots of people judge a site by it's layout. Colours: The colours of a layout are important. Make sure the colours that you are using go together. Never use MS Paint's default colours. That is just too plain. Pastel colours are most commonly used on pixel sites because they're cute, they don't burn the eyes, and they go together. Make sure you don't use clashing like bright cyan blue and lime green. It's impossible to read, and it's blinding. Pastel blue & pastel green on the other hand, looks nicer together. Blog: Oh please, if you have large scribbles/pixels/vectors, don't use a super small 200x200px blog! Otherwise, we can't enjoy your beautiful work! Make sure the text is readable on the blog, too. Examples: If you have a light pink coloured blog, use hot pink text, or if you have a dark grey blog, have whitetext. Strcitly no white on pastel colours! Links If you have affies, then please double check your affies page to make sure that all their sites pop up in a new window. You can do this by using this code: See the target="_blank" part? That's what makes the link open up in a fresh new window. TIP: Do a site round-about every once in a while to make sure that every link on your site is active. Write down the links that aren't, and go remove them ASAP! Content Your visitor should be at your site for at least a little while! I used to say quality over quantity, but just don't have two pixels and that's it! You should update frequently, and have new content fot the visitors to look at. Have stuff to keep them there for a little while so they will have the urge of coming back!
